Laura Apsit Livens graduated from the London College of Fashion she studied BA(Hons) Cordwainers Accessories during which she worked for Philip Treacy. Whilst there she worked during the royal wedding (April 2011) and for couture houses such as Valentino, Givenchy, Armani Privé and Alexander McQueen
Laura is now based in London where she is working for her own label. She has been producing her own collections as well as collaborating with other design houses, most recent being Louis Vuitton for a new campaign, Hasan Hejazi and Boodles the Jewellers. She has built up a star-studded client list including Paloma Faith, Rita Ora, Jessie J and the Duchess of Westminster, she has been featured in Magazines such as LOVE Magazine, Hello, Tirade, Daily Mail and Cheshire Life.
As a hat designer she believes that it is of utmost importance that we do not see couture millinery disappear. It is important for her to use modern designs with old couture techniques, each piece being hand blocked and individually hand stitched without the use of any machinery. She is influenced by the use of unusual materials.
Laura studied her foundation Degree at Central Saint Martins and studied courses at Kensington and Chelsea College in theatrical millinery. She was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 from LCF, Laura was finalist of the New Era Introducing Baseball hat competition and her graduate collection has been featured on WGSN.
